The Trustees meet quarterly on the third Thursday of January, April, July and October, and such additional times as necessary.
One Trustee is elected annually to serve a three year term. Affirmed by majority vote, the senior elected trustee serves as the chair. Mr. Bittel also serves as the bookkeeper/treasurer. As many as two Alternate Trustees may be nominated by the Trustees for Board of Selectmen appointment to one year terms. All parties are Swanzey residents.

The Trustees of Trust Funds maintain custody of all trust funds held by the Town of Swanzey and Monadnock Regional School District. Trustees manage the investment of the trust funds together with their orderly receipts and disbursements. Managed funds include:
- Capital Reserves and Expendable Trusts funded by public appropriations at the respective Town and School District
- Other public restricted and expendable accounts funded by private bequests, donations, scholarships and memorials; and
- The Cemetery Fund, which is is a perpetual trust.
Trustees hold fiduciary authority in compliance with NH statutes (notably RSA 31, 32, and 91-A). All trust accounts are audited and reports submitted annually to the Charitable Trust Unit of the NH Department of Justice and to the NH Department of Revenue Administration.
