Hours: Monday 9:30 am to 6:00 pm , Tuesday - Thursday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pmexcept Wednesday when the office will be closed from 1 pm to 2:30 pm for lunch.



(Kennel/Group dog licenses can not be done online, they must be done in person at the Town Clerk's Office)

Titles are required for any vehicle year 2000 or newer


Any vehicle year 1999 and older require one of the following:

•    a VIN verification form

•    Title

•    New Hampshire registration


Renewing your Registration

•    Old registration or renewal notice the Town sends you

•    Driver’s License


Registering a new/used vehicle from dealership

•    All paperwork from dealer

•    The “BLUE” CTA form from dealership or title or certificate of origin

•    The window sticker if you have it


Registering a vehicle from a private sale

•    Bill of Sale

•    Title (2000 and newer)

•    New Hampshire registration from old owner or VIN verification form  (1999 and older)


Transferring plates

•    The registration for the plates you are transferring from

•    All paper work for the new vehicle you are transferring the plates to


New Swanzey resident  

•    Your new license reflecting your Swanzey address

•    If you do not have a new license yet you will need two of the following:

  1. Mortgage statement
  2. Lease agreement
  3. Utility bill
  4. Piece of mail
